Police will continue to search for 61 year Bruce Edwards today after his yacht was located 35 km from Gove on the rocks of Cape Wilberforce yesterday. 

Its believed Mr Edwards set off from the Gove Yacht Club at around 7:30pm Tuesday night on a solo voyage to Darwin.

A passing vessel located the yacht with the hull appearing to have been damaged, causing the vessel to take on water.

Information suggests an EPIRB was onboard the yacht, however may not have been activated prior to departure.

Police and NT Emergency Services personnel, with assistance from other agencies continue to search for the missing man and urge anyone that may be passing near or over the area, to keep an eye out.”
