NT Footy Documentary Airs Tonight

A documentary exploring the link between The Essendon Football Club and Northern Territory Remote Aboriginal Communities will air on Fox Footy later this evening.

The documentary was filmed late last year during Essendon’s trip to the Top End and is part of an ongoing sponsorship program between the NT and the Football Club.

Players including Courtney Dempsey, Ricky Dyson, and Luke Davis all feature in the documentary interacting with kids from Wadeye, The Tiwi Islands and Darwin

The documentary titled Bombers in the Territory can be viewed tonight on Fox Footy from 9pm.

 
Drags Continue Despite Rain

Wet weather on Saturday failed to stop round 2 of The Hidden Valley Drag Racing Association Championships with race officials drying the track to ensure racing occurred.

The wet weather did however effect race times with the fastest run of the evening going to Scott MacLean in the All Tools Top Alcohol Funny Car with a time of 6.06 seconds.

One of the Territory’s youngest racers continued her winning ways with Danielle Abel taking out the Super Toyworld Junior Dragster race for the evening.

The next round of Drag Racing will be on Saturday the 28th of June followed by the NT Titles on the 12th and 13th of July.

 
Rosier Cleared Of Injury

NT Thunder are beginning to show consistent form this season after their 27 point win over the Broadbeach Cats in Queensland on the weekend.

Thunder had a serious injury scare during the 3rd quarter with Matthew Rosier taken away by ambulance with a suspected broken leg, but scans later cleared Rosier of any major injury.

Final scores were Thunder 20.8.128 to Broadbeach 16.5.101

Thunders next game will be back in Darwin on Saturday the 1st of June against Southport Sharks and will be the curtain raiser to the AFL match later in the evening.

 
Thunder Holding On To Top 3

NT Thunder will travel to Queensland this weekend to take on the Broadbeach Cats in Round 9 of the NEAFL Competition.

A win will be vital for thunder this weekend to stay within reach of the Top 3 on the ladder, with 3 wins and 3 losses for the season so far.

Both Argus brothers will rejoin the side along with the return of Aaron Motlop and Neil Vea Vea.

AFL Returns To TIO

Tickets are still on sale for the Western Bulldogs and Port Adelaide AFL match on Saturday the 1st of June at TIO Stadium.

The game coincides with NT Thunders match against the Southport Sharks at 3:00pm which will be a curtain raiser to the AFL game which commences at 7.

Tickets for Grand Stand seating for the AFL match must be purchased via the Darwin Entertainment Centre Box Office, with corporate packages also available.

The game will be one of 2 AFL matches played in Darwin this year the second will be Melbourne verses Brisbane on Saturday the 20th of July
