COACHES PREVIEW- 2nd SEMI FINAL
There is nothing more exciting than being involved in finals football. This weekend the club will begin it’s 2012 finals campaign against the Brisbane Lions Reserves at Northline Oval in Palmerston. In terms of NEAFL Blockbusters it doesn’t get bigger than this for the Territory. Thunder and Brisbane finished the season as the top 2 sides in the Northern Conference and with the inclusion of a number of senior experienced players and a healthy list, the Lions will be a very tough opponent. The reality is that finals are always tough games of football whoever you play. Performance at your best this time of year often comes back to the belief you have as both an individual and a team. We have a wonderful record here in the Top End and will be striving to continue that run on Saturday night. The exciting aspect for Territorian football fans is that Brisbane’s trip north will see that all four AFL clubs within the NEAFL having played games in Darwin/Palmerston during the 2012 season. The opportunity for football fans to see established AFL players along with emerging stars whilst supporting their home team in Thunder is great for football.
