Free mulch is now available for collection in Darwin.
It comes following Tropical Cyclone Fina, which resulted in 60,000 tonnes of green-waste collected and turned into mulch.
You can collect the mulch at the Hidden Valley green waste site from today until February 8.
Minister for Logistics and Infrastructure Bill Yan says it’s great that Territorians can boost their gardens for free.
“There’s plenty of mulch ready for a new home and this is a great way residents can help their gardens flourish after Cyclone Fina and save plenty of money not buying it,” he says.
The site will be closed on Australia Day.
Residents are asked to bring appropriate footwear, a shovel, and be aware of their surroundings.
