So something strange has been happening on Nathan Fillion’s social media at the moment. He’s been posting videos of himself, dressed in his The Rookie uniform, knocking on the doors of his former Firefly cast mates and informing them that “it’s time”.
Don’t play with my heart like this Nathan. I have strong feelings about this show and if I find out all this build up is for something other than a new movie or revival series I will have words.
Anyway, all of this sudden social media action involving these cast mates has many fans speculating what it could mean. Undoubtedly they’re hinting at a reunion of some variety, but what form will this take? Many tried to temper their expectations and have made guesses that Fillion gathering the cast for an entire cast rewatch on his podcast with Alan Tudyk, Once We Were Spacemen. In one video, in which Fillion reunites with Sean Maher, the caption simply says “Some of you have guessed convention, podcast, or cross-over. You are wrong.”
SO WHAT IS IT NATHAN!?
The original show concluded, abruptly, 24-years ago. But fans have never been able to let it go, and it appears neither has the cast. What do you think? Would you like to see the Serenity make a proper return?
