Walking off the War Within
Sat 18 Apr 2020 07:00 am to 12:00 pm
Walking off the War Within, suicide prevention trek, to be held on Saturday, April 18 at East Point Reserve Darwin.
This event was hosted for the first time in 2017 to honour fire fighter, and former NTFRS employee and 1st Armoured Regiment Australian Soldier, Nathan “Mule” Shanahan, who succumbed to his demons and committed suicide in late 2016.
We invite members of the Emergency Services, Defence Personnel and all community members to attend the event, with participants walking either 5km, 10km, 15 or 20km with or without a pack on their backs symbolising the weight that depression can have on each individual.
With a focus on raising awareness, WOTWW is about being a part of something, taking a stand, making a difference and the connections that you make as you walk and talk together. Further information can be found at walkoffww.com/.
If you are aware of any organisation that may be in a position to offer assistance, please share the attached a sponsorship prospectus, as it is our generous supporters who help make the event possible.
