A Darwin City car dealership has been targeted in an arson attack this morning.
Police were called to the scene at the Chery Motor Dealership on Duke Street at around 3:45am, where three brand new cars were set a blaze – each worth $33,000.
Police say one of the windows of the business building has also been blown out.
Traffic diversions are in place, and motorists are being urged to avoid Dinah Beach road at the Tiger Brennan intersection and Duke Street as they are both closed.
Serious Crime detectives and fire investigators are treating the incident as suspicious, and investigations are continuing.
