New reforms have been introduced in parliament making changes to defamation laws in the Territory.
The changes include introducing a ‘serious harm’ threshold, ensuring only cases involving real reputational damage go to court.
It will also look at protecting victims who report crimes to police from defamation cases including by email or online.
