The two vehicles, allegedly stolen from the Northern Land Council compound were then alleged used to ram two police vehicles causing significant damage.

Deputy Commissioner Michael Murphy says the carnage didn’t stop there.

“The Katherine golf course was damaged, I think three holes and fairways was destroyed.”

“The Katherine High School oval was also damaged and there was a ram raid at the Whitehouse Furnishers in Katherine.”

Fortunately no one was injured, with the youths fleeing the scene in one of the stolen cars as the other was damaged in the collision.

“The actions of these offenders could have led to the death of innocent bystanders.”

“This type of behaviour is abhorrent and absolutely unacceptable.”
