A major hotel chain is coming to Darwin set to deliver more luxury accommodation for visitors.
IHG Hotels and Resorts will launch Voco Darwin Suites in early May, with the project already creating 200 local jobs.
The 88-suite hotel at 87 Mitchell Street will feature a restaurant, pool and meeting space.
Minister for Tourism and Hospitality Marie-Clare Boothby went on a tour of the site, ahead of its opening.
“To see an international brand like IHG establish itself in Darwin – backed by local investors like JH Group – is an exciting signal of confidence in the Territory economy, and shows that our ambitious strategy to grow the visitor economy is working,” she says.
