Top End Hospitals forced into Code Yellow declaration

Royal Darwin and Palmerston Hospitals have both declared a Code Yellow, following capacity issues.

The code is typically declared when a hospital is experiencing lack of beds or capacity issues, this marking the first declared since the CLP came into power last year.

The NT Government has previously been accused of avoiding declaring the code, saying they’re instead managing capacity issues in other ways.

Both hospitals will now have a range of measures put in place to ease pressure and improve patient flow.
