More than 2kg of cannabis has been seized by police following a three day operation at Darwin Airport and the Cullen Bay Ferry Terminal.
The operation in August involved the Dog squad, and aimed to prevent drugs and alcohol from ending up in remote communities.
Officers say they discovered 1.36 kilos of cannabis in washing powder boxes hidden in baggage bound for Elcho Island, as well as 220 grams of cannabis in an unaccompanied bag on a regional flight.

Investigations into the intended recipient of the drugs is ongoing, with two persons of interest identified.
The operation also saw the arrest of a 71-year-old woman who allegedly tried to avoid police at Darwin Airport on August 22.
A search of her taxi allegedly turned up a trafficable quantity of cannabis and she’s has since been charged.
Senior Constable Scott Pearson says the dog squad was a major help during the operation.
“Drug Dog Diesel was instrumental in each of the seizures, with his detection skills proving vital to intercepting cannabis before it could reach remote communities,” he says.
