A teenager is facing a string of charges after allegedly firing an arrow at a security guard in Darwin City.
The 14-year-old boy is being accused of stealing a compound bow and four arrows, along with a number of other items, from a shop on Cavenagh Street just before 4:30pm Wednesday.
Police say he ran from the scene when a security guard outside of St Mary’s Cathedral attempted to chase the teen, yelling at him to put down the bow.
The youth allegedly fired an arrow in the direction of the security guard, but narrowly missed.
CCTV operators tracked the teen to the end of Smith Street where police conducted a cordon.
He was arrested, with police finding a small quantity of drugs within his possession.
The teen has been refused bail and is remanded in custody, facing several charges including recklessly endangering serious harm, theft, going armed in public, and possessing a schedule 1 drug.
