A worker at the Charles Darwin University Childcare Centre has tested positive for COVID-19.

The centre has been closed for deep cleaning and will reopen on Monday.

Children and staff who attended the facility on Monday January 10, should monitor for symptoms and isolate if deemed as a close contact.

Close contacts need to have a Rapid Antigen Test within three days of being exposed and on Day 6 of isolation.

Acting Vice-Chancellor Anne Coulter says staff have been asked to show proof of a negative COVID test before returning to work.

She is also calling on parents to take action.

“Parents are asked to monitor symptoms of their children before bringing them back into the centre.”

Anyone with concerns about childcare fees is encouraged to contact the centre directly.
