No tourism tax for Territory
The Northern Territory will not be introducing a tourism tax anytime soon.
It comes as Queensland considers the move in a bid to fast track its economic return from Covid-19.
The state has had an influx of domestic travellers but is reporting a 60 per cent loss in International visitors.
Cairns tourism groups is reportedly looking at a five to eight per cent visitor levy for the next couple of years.
In a statement the NT Department of Industy, Tourism and Trade says the Northern Territory is not considering introducing a tax for tourists.
