Sacked Inpex workers stand firm on picket line

Sacked Inpex workers will continue their picket line outside JKC Australia's Darwin office this morning, after 850 employees were stood down over a contracts dispute.

NT Trade Unions have filed joint-action with the Fair Work Commission, saying construction giant Laing O'Rourke didn't consult with workers before showing them the door.

The Commission will meet with Laing O'Rourke next week.

The Ichthys Project Managing Director Louis Bon, meantime, says Inpex is working with the Project’s stakeholders to ensure as many affected workers as possible are rapidly re-deployed.
