The Northern Territory's road toll has risen to 11 following the death of a Darwin father at the weekend.

34-year-old Danny Lee passed away on Saturday after a motorbike crash more than a month ago.

The father of two was hit by a car that was attempting to change lanes on the Stuart Highway near Coolalinga on March 11.

He was taken to Royal Darwin Hospital in a critical condition but never recovered from his injuries.

Meantime Duty Superintendent Rob Farmer says drivers across Darwin were pretty well behaved for the Easter long.

"We had 27 (drink drivers) over the whole Easter long weekend, but most of those were apprehended in the first two days of the break. We had in total four low-range, 15 medium-range and eight high-range drink drivers," he said.

And drivers across the NT are being reminded to slow down around schools today, as term two gets underway.

Thousands of children have returned to school, which means a spike in traffic around peak drop-off and pick-up times.

40 kilometre an hour zones are in place between 7am and 5pm.
