Scullion elected acting CLP president
Federal Aboriginal Affairs minister Nigel Scullion will be acting president of the Northern Territory's Country Liberal Party for at least the next five months.
The veteran NT senator was elected into the role following the retirement last month of Shane Stone.
The former Liberal Party of Australia president was tasked with revamping the CLP after it was obliterated at the 2016 election following four years of scandals and infighting.
"I would like to thank previous party president and former chief minister Shane Stone for his tireless work in rebuilding the Country Liberal Party over the past 12 months," Mr Scullion said.
"I will be continuing with the work Shane started."
Mr Scullion will hold the position in the lead up to the CLP's party president election held in early April next year.
