The Government says the peak in demand at Royal Darwin Hospital is easing.

It follows an announcement on Monday that the hospital was operating above its maximum capacity.

and while it says they are still over capacity, some patients have been moved out of the emergency department and into wards and overflow areas.

The hospital says while demand is easing, people with non emergency health needs are encouraged to visit their GP.
