Shorten Visits Barunga Festival
Federal Opposition Leader Bill Shorten is among those at the Barunga Festival in Katherine today.
The festival is a showcase of Indigenous music, sport and culture.
This year marks 30 years since the historic call for treaty as part of the Barunga statement.
Mr Shorten is calling for less talk and more action towards a treaty.
"Too many words from the Barunga Statement of 30 years ago have not become reality," Mr Shorten said.
"It is not beyond the capacity of Australians to support a vision for a reconciled Australia," he said.
The festival continues this weekend.
