Arvo Storm Hits Darwin
A short but intense storm whipped through the Top End yesterday afternoon.
It promoted the bureau to issue a severe weather warning - the first for the season.
Winds of up to 87km/h were recorded at Darwin Harbour at around 2:30pm.
It brought plenty of rain too - with Pinelands receiving 27mm of rain.
Most of the it had gone by the time it got to Darwin, with the airport recording just 6mm.
More showers and storms are expected for the weekend.
