A $1.9 million construction contract has been awarded to Advance Civil Engineering Pty Ltd to consruct new jetty in Nitmiluk National Park.

A living cultural landscape, Nitmiluk National Park is a key visitor destination attracting approximately 270,000 travellers each year.

The jetty project is part of the $10 million investment to upgrade, refresh and develop tourism infrastructure in the spectacular Nitmiluk Gorge. This investment complements the Territory Labor Government's $5.5 million Turbocharging Tourism stimulus investment into the Park to attract visitors, create local jobs and put more money into the pockets of Territorians.

The turbo investment is delivering new multi-day walking experiences combining Aboriginal culture and nature, as well as linked visitor facilities such as a mountain bike trail network. Jointly managed with the Jawoyn people, all projects are being coordinated in close consultation with the Nitmiluk Board of Management.

All upgrades will incorporate design elements that resonate with the landscape, tell the story of the Park and the Jawoyn people, and deliver a memorable visitor experience.
