RSPCA Guardian Angel Christmas Appeal

Each Christmas, RSPCA Darwin reaches out to the community in search of Guardian Angels for animals in their care. This year, local business TIO has answered that call yet again with nothing short of a Christmas miracle – pledging another $10,000 dollar matching weekend.

Darwin is renowned for taking care of its own, especially when times are tough. This year, NT local insurer TIO, has proven yet again that this is true.

“We are absolutely thrilled to announce that #doublethedifference will be back with TIO’s support this year,” says RSPCA Interim General Manager Peter King. “Traditionally Christmas and the wet season is the hardest time of year for the shelter as so many of our supporters head south to escape the heat. The flow on effect of this means that donations slow down, volunteers and fosters thin out, and our animal surrender waitlist grows. Last year’s campaign just blew us away, we never expected to raise $36,000. Hopefully this year is bigger and better again.”

TIO CEO, Daryl Madden says, “We were amazed at the support Territorians showed during the dollar matching weekend last year so the decision to support RSPCA Darwin’s Guardian Angel appeal again this year was an easy one for us.”

TIO will match each donation toward the RSPCA Guardian Angel Christmas appeal up to an incredible $10,000 starting this Friday, December 6th and continuing until 11:59pm Sunday December 8th. You can become a Guardian Angel today at: www.rspcaguardianangel.com.au

As an independent local charity, RSPCA Darwin receives no guaranteed funding and relies on the support of the community to continue its vital work. Guardian Angel allows the public to sponsor an animal at the shelter this Christmas who has no one else; helping to ensure their future is bright. By donating during this weekend supporters can ensure their help goes even further in supporting Top End animals.
