PCYC Permanently Closed

Following the temporary closure that commenced in July 2019, it is with regret that the Management Committee of the Northern Territory Police & Citizens Youth Clubs Association Inc. (PCYC) announce that the PCYC will permanently cease operations.

The closure of the PCYC is attributed to increasing financial difficulties arising from workplace health and safety concerns particularly around ageing infrastructure in need of significant repairs and exacerbated by Cyclone Marcus, rising cost structures, operational challenges and the inability to secure adequate funding. These significant challenges have left PCYC in a precarious financial position with limited capacity to meet current and ongoing liabilities.

The Association is believed to be solvent and is expected to pay debts in full within 12 months of the commencement of the voluntary winding up.

PCYC's history dates back to 1955 and the Association appreciates the impact this closure has on the Top End community. The contributions of past and present Committee Members who have volunteered countless hours in support of the PCYC is acknowledged, as is the considerable financial and in-kind support provided by NT Police. We thank members for their patronage over the years, and for their patience and support during the recent difficult times.
