Poor Pitch Moves WBBL Game

A Women's Big Bash League game scheduled in Alice Springs has had a last minute venue change.

The Adelaide Strikers and Perth Scorchers were due to face off a Traeger Park this weekend.

However the game has been moved to Albrecht Oval.

It comes as the outfield at Traeger Park has not come up in time.

NT Cricket CEO Joel Morrison isn't happy about it.

“It is disappointing that Traeger Park is not in a suitable condition to host the WBBL. Alice Springs Town Council is a strong supporter of cricket in the region, but not having the outfield ready for this weekend is clearly not good enough.

Ensuring these matches remained in Alice Springs was our top priority and we’re working closely with the Strikers, CA and Council to ensure Albrecht Oval is ready to host this wonderful event," Mr Morrison said.

Another BBL game is scheduled at Traeger Park next month.

Its hoped the oval will be in playable condition by then.
