A group who allegedly broke into a home and stole two cars in Darwin’s northern suburbs have been arrested.
NT Police received reports that a home on Poinciana Street in Nightcliff was broken into on Tuesday between 2am to 3am.
The offenders allegedly stole two cars from the home, a bronze Mitsubishi Outlander and a white Kia EV3, with one of the cars tracked travelling through Malak and Karama.
Police later sighted the alleged stolen cars travelling through Moil at around 7.20am, before they were both abandoned at Byrne Park.
It’s alleged the offenders fled the scene on foot, before Strike Force Trident members established a cordon and arrested them.
Three adults and three youths, aged 13, 15 and 17, are expected to be charged.
Detective Senior Sergeant Darren Burns said some of the youths arrested were already known to police.
“Of particular concern, one of the youths was already on bail for serious alleged offending, including aggravated robbery and vehicle-related offences.
