Extra police will remain in Alice Springs for the time being, with their presence helping to reduce anti-social behaviour and offending.
Operation Drina saw more than 40 officers deployed to the town in November last year when cars were being stolen and rammed into police vehicles.
Since then 1,386 litres of alcohol has been destroyed, 168 people have been taken into protective custody, with 236 arrests and 97 court notices issued.
Officers have also handed out 278 traffic fines, 101 summary infringement notices, with 54 people banned from the declared area under the Liquor Act.
Commander Matt Hollamby says anti-social behaviour and crime has reduced over the last six weeks, which is when offending normally increases.
He says high visibility police patrols and proactive engagement with the community has had a positive impact.
“Operation Drina has enabled a targeted approach to crime and anti-social behaviour in the CBD which includes working closely with other government stakeholders and police operational units such as Strike Force Viper and the Dog Operations Unit.”
NT PFES says no end date has been specified for Operation Drina.
