An Emergency Warning has been issued for a bushfire spreading in Darwin’s rural area.
The fire is blazing on Leonino Road and Old Bynoe Road, including EEE Road, Notta Road, Parkin Road and Brougham Road, Labasheeda (Fly Creek).
Bushfires NT are urging locals in the area to put in place your bushfire survival plan and avoid the area – if it is unsafe to stay, leave immediately.
Bushfires NT says the risk of loss of life or threat to properties is almost certain or has occurred.
Smoke from the bushfire may affect driving visibility and active flames may be close to the road, and drivers in the area being urged to slow down, turn on headlights and drive safely for the conditions.
The emergency warning was alerted at 1:15pm Wednesday, with locals urged to monitor conditions.
