A prisoner who sparked a two-day manhunt after escaping custody in Darwin has been recaptured.
Twenty-six-year-old Isaac Thompson, who is alleged to have links to the Mongols outlaw motorcycle gang, escaped from NT Corrections custody on Sunday night while being escorted from an ambulance into the Emergency Department at Royal Darwin Hospital.
Police alleged Thompson was assisted by known associates while on the run, before officers located and arrested him without incident at a location in Darwin River on Wednesday afternoon.
Investigations into the escape are continuing, with police urging anyone who may have information to contact them on 131 444.
