A new police operation is aiming to crackdown on anti-social behaviour across Darwin.
Kicking off today (April 15) Operation Home Safe will see NT Police partner with the Public Order Response Unit, Larrakia Nation and Housing, Transit and Education Officers.
They’ll be conducting high-visibility patrols aimed at supporting vulnerable members of our community and assisting them with accessing critical services.
Superintendent Kirsten Engels says the operation is focused on both support and enforcement.
“We are seeing a range of factors contributing to anti-social behaviour in busy public places,” Superintendent Engels says.
“Our focus is on keeping areas like shopping centres and hospitals safe.”
The program is set to run until the end of the week.
