A 25 year-old man is facing court today, accused of sexually assailing a 16 year-old female in Katherine East at the weekend.
The incident took place in the early hours of Saturday morning on the walking path near the Stuart Highway close to the Katherine Police Station.
He was taken into custody on Saturday and charged with a number of offences, including sexual intercourse without consent.
