A man has been charged with a string of serious offences over a bottle shop break-in at Pinelands.
The incident happened on Sunday night, with the 28-year-old man being part of a group who were allegedly attempting to gain entry to the bottle shop through the staff entrance door.
Police who were patrolling in the area approached the groups car, and it’s alleged the man then ran towards the officers with a large pair of secateurs.
Police then took evasive action and positioned their vehicle behind a large metal sign, and the man is further accused of throwing the pair of secateurs at them which pierced the sign before fleeing the scene.
He has been arrested and faces six serious charges, including assaulting police, attempted unlawful entry, carrying ammunition and property damage.
Investigations are ongoing.
