Authorities are investigating after a woman and her child were allegedly threatened with an edged weapon in Palmerston.
Police say two male youths approached the pair as they were returning to their car near Goyder Square, one of them allegedly snatching the woman’s handbag as she placed her child inside the vehicle.
It’s further alleged the offenders then demanded she remove her child from the car, and threatened her with an edged weapon.

A witness was able to restrain one of the boys until police arrived and arrested him, the other offender fled the scene.
A 13-year-old is expected to be charged in relation to the incident.
Police are calling on any witnesses to come forward.
