A naked man is in custody over multiple burglaries in Driver and is expected to be charged later today.
It’s alleged he broke into a Bailey Court home in the nude and stole a quantity of alcohol before fleeing at 3.40pm yesterday.
He is further accused of breaking into another home on Widdup Crescent and causing damage before jumping over a fence to get away from police.
The 34-year-old went on to allegedly target a third home on Waterhouse Crescent and threatened a resident before fleeing.
He was arrested nearby with the stolen goods.
Detective Senior Sergeant Ian Young says it was a distressing ordeal for the occupants and has commended their actions.
“Their quick thinking and immediate Triple Zero Calls allowed police to apprehend this offender before more homes were targeted.”
He says investigations are ongoing.
“We are urging everyone in Driver, and the surrounds, with CCTV to review their footage for suspicious behaviour yesterday.”
“If you have information please make contact on 131 444 or anonymously through Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.”
