A woman has died and another has been injured, following an alleged fight in Darwin’s CBD.
Emergency crews were called to Mitchell Street around 8.20 Tuesday night after reports a group was involved in an altercation.
Two women aged, 28 and 33, both suffered stab wounds and were rushed to Royal Darwin Hospital.
The 28-year-old died shortly after while the 33-year-old was in a stable condition with non-life threatening injuries.
Detective senior sergeant Paul Morrissey says police were able to identify a fight had broken out between the two ladies around the corner from where they were found.
Detective Morrissey says further CCTV footage was reviewed, which revealed there was a third woman involved in the altercation, who was found a some distance away.
“A 31-year-old woman is in custody and is assisting police with enquiries.”
Police are urging anyone who witnessed the incident to make contact on 131 444.
