The total number of lives lost on Territory roads has increased after a pedestrian was struck by a car in Darwin.
Emergency services responded to the crash between Bowen Street and Amy Johnson Avenue just after 4:30 Friday morning.
Police say the pedestrian died upon emergency services arriving.

The Major Crash Investigation Unit is currently on the scene, and there are road closures in place.
The inbound lane of Tiger Brennan Drive is closed, with police urging motorists to avoid the area if possible.
The number of lives lost on Territory roads this year is now at 5.
