An Australian Army soldier has died during a training exercise at the Mount Bundey Training Area in the Northern Territory.
The Australian Defence Force (ADF) has confirmed the soldier’s death following an incident on Monday, October 5, at the military training base, located about 120 kilometres south-east of Darwin.
Five other soldiers were also injured in the incident.

In a statement, the ADF said the soldier’s next of kin had been notified and is asking for privacy.
“We request that the privacy of Defence members and families is respected at this time,” the statement said.
The circumstances surrounding the incident have not yet been released.
The ADF says further information will be provided when available.
